I had just seen Jamie’s American Road Trip and much preferred the fly-on-the-wall Jamie to the more staged version in his other shows and in previous Sainsburys ads.

Academy built a kitchen on a truck and we took Jamie around the country, capturing him interacting with crowds in this and many shorter format films. He was amazing with people and a pleasure to work with.

Just as with the Visa Zlatan campaign, I really enjoyed learning his phrases and speech patterns and to write in fluent ‘Jamie’.

The campaign was such a success that the Truck featured in another 3 campaigns afterwards. One of the most enjoyable shoots I’ve ever done, directed by Peter Cattaneo.
