SALESMaN
RX BOURBON
RX Bourbon was sold legally throughout Prohibition because it labelled itself as ‘medicinal alcohol’. (RX being the US symbol for a pharmacy.)
Our film shows a salesman using similar ingenuity to sell vacuum cleaners.
A rare excursion beyond the M25, to the tiny towns of Kansas for that ‘Paper Moon’ look.
On drives across endless plains, if we stopped at a filling station with a store attached, the owner would ask: “How d’ya like our town?” Then, finding they were talking to a group of young British people they’d all ask, “Are you guys in a band?”
A massive pleasure shooting action in period. And talking to the actor at the big house who played recurring characters in ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Friends’. Directed by Mike Stephenson.
